Fantasy Draft
Ladies and Gentlmen, let the fantasy football season begin. Tonight I'm attending a draft for a fantasy league I joined. This is the first time I've ever done this, so I don't really know what to expect. I have the third overall pick, so I'll probably end up with LaDainian Tomlinson or Peyton Manning as my first pick. The number one and two pickers have already told me they were going to take Shaun Alexander and Larry Johnson. I should probably pick a RB in the first round because it seems like they are the most sought-after players.For those of you not familiar... Fantasy football is when a group of people get together, 'draft' current NFL players, and 'compete' with each other every week to see whose players stack up more stats. You have to draft a bunch of starting offensive players, a kicker, and a defense. Each week you have to 'start' your draft picks against another fantasy players draft picks.
We're doing our draft tonight at Hooters at 100-what-the-f***-ever and Metcalf. Apparently we're getting free wings while we're drafting. I'm not sure how Larry swung that one, but I'm not going to complain - even if Hooters does have the worst wings on the planet.Labels: fantasy football

Hooters has some of the best wings I've ever had....and I've had plenty. Make sure you get them "naked"...when they are breaded they really are the worst ever. Second place goes to Johhny O'Quigley's. Third is Buffalo Wild Wings. Fourth goes to McNalley's bar and grill. After that, there is a big drop-off in quality in other restaurants I've tried. (probably a dozen in all).
I yield the floor to the resident wing expert. My favorite wings come from Winslows BBQ in KC.

` I think you're going to get a lot of good points with Peyton Manning. Someone I know who used to do fantasy football generally won by a long shot, and a lot of that was due to Peyton.
i like boneless wings from Wingstop. The Garlic and Parmesean flavor.....mmm....
other than that - i don't eat wings.

Did Jason tell you we finally joined a bowling league for the Fall? It meets Friday nights and starts this week. We may be in over our heads, because it sounds like they have pretty good averages. Now we can keep track of our stats, too!

From what I understand, once you establish an average you get a handicap based on the average of the league. So, after a while you guys might start with a few pins already. How many people are on the team?
We had some medium and teriyaki wings at hooters. The medium wings were breaded, the teriyaki wings were 'naked'. They were ok, but they were either grilled or fried. I like smoked wings better.
I guess we're just going to show up tonight and see who has slots. Doesn't seem too organized, which is just what we expect from this craptacular bowling alley.

I agree that your bowling alley is craptacular. I can't roll over 150 out there.

They seem to treat you better when you're on a league. Get ready for Spare Change--that's our team name. It's the two of us and some woman who high fives to absolutely everything. We hope to get more people nearer our own age on our team.
