District Championships
This weekend our tennis team heads into the USTA Heart of America (Kansas City) district tournament. For winning the winter session of the league we received an automatic birth to the semifinal round of the tournament. We are currently a heavy favorite in our semifinal match against Bicknell.I, however, will probably not be playing. Although our leaders want me to play, I don't think I'll be able to. My arm, specifically my elbow, has been feeling like hamburger since the last time I played. This is the same elbow that was injured in the debauchery at PhilWax's pool.
Actually, this elbow has a storied history of mishaps dating back to before I broke the two forearm bones in an accident involving a dog house and a basketball goal. But I digress.I'm afraid I'm going to have to see a doctor. I'm really afraid that they're going to tell me that they want to cut on me. I guess I should go ahead and have them do the shoulder too, I'm sure I have some rotator cuff issues as well. I'm not a big fan of doctors.

Sorry to hear about your injury. I didn't see it happened, but you seemed okay afterwards...must have been the booze anesthetic. You probably chipped a bit of your olecronon process if it's your posterior elbow. You will probably be looking at: pins to hold it together if it's bad enough, a splint if it's minor, or possibly an elbow brace fit by your friendly neighborhood orthotist....don't you wish you had me around now? Anyway, good luck and I hope it's not too serious. Let us know.
Thanks Jason. The contusion I received doesn't really bother me unless I bang my elbow on something. It appears that I hit a spot where a tendon attaches to a bone on the (for lack of a better word) outboard side of my forearm right at the elbow. The other problem, however, has been the bain of my tennis game. If my elbow even comes close to full extension or hyper-extension, it will hurt really bad every time I hit a ball after that. The part that hurts is the tendon/muscle group on the inboard side of my elbow where it attaches to the upper arm bone. I think it's directly related to the 'doghouse' incident.

We won the semifinal round. The finals are today!
was that when the rope broke off the rafter? i caught that, but i was too drunk to notice anything else. other than trying to find my way back from the bathroom.
Ya, that was the time. I don't think a lot of people got a chance to witness that particular feat of bravery/ignorance. Probably better that way.
