First Week at MLLF

Well folks, I've been at MLLF for a week now. Overall, I'd have to say that I'm happy with the change. Most things are going as I expected them to. There haven't been many surprises. It didn't really take long for me to settle back into the 40 hour week routine. I revisit many of the thoughts and feelings I remember having at the last 8-5 job I had.

One thing that I didn't expect was the amount of work. I expected that at the end of the first week we'd have less work to do. In truth, we have uncovered many non-normalized parts of the overall information system which have created a great deal of new work. I could definitely see us working for months just on projects we've come up with in the last week.

One exciting bit of news is that I have been named 'chairman' of the newly formed website committee. The purpose of the committee is to direct and administer the website on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Currently the website is hosted by a local provider, but the eventual plan is to move the site completely in house.

Thanks to everybody who wished me well with the transition. It's going smoothly, and I'm happy about the change, so far...
