Witch's Hat - Last Huzzah
I'm still having a hard time accepting the fact that the greatest Epic Rock band to ever take any stage is just.... gone. I just don't understand how you could release one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year and then just decide to call it quits. Did the vampire in Glodyany give up after his vampire friends had met their ends, hunted down by angry mobs? Did the fastest nun in the west give up after she knocked a drink into ol' scratch's lap, to start a fight, to bruise his pride? Did our hero give up after the wizard filled with dread; this was the fiercest dragon, many men had fought and died, and at the caverns entrance still could be heard their cries?
NO!
In each of these stories they all made it, and were elated. They looked down on their accomplishments, looked down upon the world. They could make it on their own! It appears as if the mountain is crumbling beneath our feet. I feel as if I'm eating my tentacles one at a time and vomiting comets. It's hard to accept that Witch's Hat will no longer be everywhere, forever.
There's a band on my player, they don't seem like quitters. There's an album in my hand, it doesn't seem like the last. There are figures on the stage with lights in their eyes, oh wait...

Holy shit and Huzzah! Awesome post. It would seem that a band that has grants and loans from the government wouldn't have to dance alone no more. But alas, their vampire friends, have met their ends....and they have disbanded. No longer will we see them coming in the distance, clear...coming here to save us. Where's our hero to the rescue? It's not to late, for them to come....back. I address them with our final plea....where's Witch's Hat? Perhaps they are tied up on the battlefront of world war 6, or bravely fighting off the moorish invasion of Spain. One day I hope I, once again, can cry.....Behold, our saviour, our victor on the field. Behold, his valor...his mastery of the steel. Until then I can only see every color reflected until black's all we've got.
Set me free.

ps....best epic rock band ever? You should be ashamed. I have two words for you....
Jethro Tull
They were bards while Witch's Hat were still suckling at their mother's collective "Teet"

Touche, I stand corrected.
Snare a mongoose. Snare a mongoose, sharktooth.
Hey Aaron,
Nice post!
This was posted on the Blue Note's board this afternoon. Might be worth a try if it's not already snatched up!
"I have 1 extra ticket to see Beck in KC at the Uptown on Monday, 10/29. My friend's date can't go, so her loss is your gain!
If you're interested call me @ 573-353-3087."
Or, like I said to Jason, people on Stubhub and Craigslist will get desperate to sell their tickets at the last minute and might lower prices.
